21 days to rethink the food system
A team effort to co-create sustainable and disruptive non-healthcare & food solutions facing the COVID-19 crisis. A challenge to bring collective thinking and the power of technology to drive, develop and fast track innovations that ensure people have enough food on the table – today and tomorrow.
Among 90 participants and 15 final projects submitted, our 2 winners of #BridgingTheGaps are Food Flow ZA and Order Kasi. Have a look at their achievements:
Food Flow was launched to face the food crisis in the COVID 19 context, by supporting small-scale farmers who had lost their restaurant clientele and communities where school feeding schemes had just closed. They purchase vegetables and food products directly from small-scale farmers using donor funding and redistribute them to the local communities.

Order Kasi is the township restaurants’ delivery app. It has shifted to a multi-purpose delivery company for informal areas during the lockdown.
Working with different partners in the informal sector by handling the logistics for their deliveries, their network assist from restaurants and farmers to the final customers customers.
